Taking steps to address systemic racism

TICO is committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity and accessibility for all. We celebrate our diverse workforce while encouraging individual growth and innovation because we feel it makes for an inspiring workplace where people are empowered and engaged. Our diversity enables us to grow and learn as a team, and encourages us to be better and do better, at work and in our communities.

You may be asking exactly what are we doing to bring about positive change and prioritize diversity and inclusion at TICO? We are proud to share that we are intending to sign the BlackNorth Initiative Pledge. The BlackNorth Initiative is led by The Canadian Council of Business Leaders Against Anti-Black Systemic Racism and is committed to the removal of anti-Black systemic barriers negatively affecting the lives of Black Canadians. They are challenging corporate Canada to add more diversity to their workplaces and boardrooms, declaring policies, setting targets, and holding themselves accountable to create better representation for Black Canadians.

We would be joining over 450 companies in both the private and public sector who have already signed the pledge and have committed to actively working to end systemic racism in the workplace. TICO is honoured to join that group in pledging to end systemic racism. Click here to learn more about the BlackNorth Initiative.

This is one of a number of steps that TICO has committed to taking in order to demonstrate that systemic racism has no place in this or any organization, and that prioritizing diversity and inclusion can and will make us better.
