Working with other travel businesses? Make sure they are registered.
When engaging with other travel businesses in Ontario, it’s important to double check that they are registered with TICO. Ontario’s travel law requires that anyone selling travel services must be registered, and as a TICO registered business, you can’t do business with someone who should be registered but isn’t.
Why does this matter? Working with an unregistered business can put you at risk. If something goes wrong – such as services not being fulfilled – you can find yourself linked to the issue. It can also leave you and your customers vulnerable to fraud.
The good news? It’s easy to check if a company is registered. Before working with another travel company, take a quick look on TICO’s directory to confirm the business is registered and has an active status. It’s a simple step that helps protect your business and your customers.
